Octopize, the French leader in data desensitization, announced today, in collaboration with Thales, the publication of a white paper entitled: “Desensitization of strategic data”.
Produced with the support of the program Trust My Tech by Thales, this white paper offers a concrete method for transforming sensitive data into trusted assets. It allows the defense and industrial sectors to protect their critical information while accelerating the development of sovereign algorithms that are essential for decision-making.
Event: exclusive presentation at the InCyber fair
To support the release of this work, Octopize will speak at the heart of the InCyber lounge to present the findings of this white paper.
📍 Where: Thales stand (G3), InCyber Show, Paris.
📅 When: Thursday April 2 at 12 pm.
Turning retention into secure sharing
In a context where operational superiority depends on the ability to exploit information flows more quickly than the adversary, data partitioning is a major barrier to innovation. Desensitization, at the heart of this book, makes it possible to reduce the vulnerability of a data set without degrading its statistical usefulness.
- An unprecedented methodology: The white paper introduces a framework for quantifying contextual sensitivity and preventing data from being attributed to its source (sensor, military or industrial unit).
- The power of synthetic data: Based on Octopize's patented solution, each original data is transformed into a synthetic “avatar”. This process ensures confidentiality while maintaining statistical utility for training AI models.
- Real use case: The effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated through the use of aeronautical surveillance data (ADS-B), proving that it is possible to protect strategic signatures while maintaining the same prediction accuracy.
They said
“Artificial intelligence is the new lifeblood, but its growth is hampered by access to data: 80% of them remain unusable because they are too sensitive. This white paper proposes a paradigm shift: moving from fixed real data to fluid “trusted data”. In collaboration with Thales, we are showing that synthetic data is the key to guaranteeing our sovereignty and transforming this strategic asset into a real lever of action for our manufacturers.” — Olivier Breillacq, CEO of Octopize.
”Breakthrough innovation is born at the border of sectors. By adapting Octopize's technology to defense challenges via our Trust My Tech program, we are removing a strategic barrier: protecting sensitive data while accelerating AI on a large scale. This white paper proves that technology transfer is the key to our competitiveness in the global race for trusted AI.” — Marine Martinez, Global Program Lead Trust My Tech, Thales
About Octopize
Unlocking Value by Turning Sensitive Data into Trusted Assets
Founded in 2018, Octopize is the French deeptech that unlocks the use of data, the obstacle to the development of AI. Today, artificial intelligence is no longer limited by its algorithms but by access to data. While 80% of data is unusable because it is too sensitive, compartmentalized, and rare, Octopize's patented technology transforms real data into anonymous synthetic data. This paradigm shift makes it possible to move from fixed real data to fluid “trusted data”, thus unlocking value while ensuring compliance (RGPD, AI Act, HIPAA).
Octopize transforms data into a trusted asset with a high ROI. By unlocking data sharing, our customers save up to 12 months on developing new products and create data sets that can be used endlessly at no marginal cost. The artificial increase in the volume of rare data (fraud, health) makes it possible to accelerate the training of Machine Learning models, while reducing collection times and boosting the final performance of algorithms.
Octopize counts today more than 30 customers from different sectors: health, defense, mobility, public institutions, and industry. French software publisher, Octopize is based on a multi-patented technology and has received numerous prestigious awards: Responsible AI (Orange), B! Up Explore (BNP), i-Nov (BPI), Cyber @StationF (Thales), Generate (GICAT), French IoT (La Poste), Startup Challenge (PwC), Propulse (AIT), Intelligent systems (ID4mobility).
